What is the objective?

To use your party of characters to defeat your opponent’s party to claim victory. However when you defeat an enemy character, the soul of that character empowers another one of their allies granting them an additional action and access the the defeated characters specific cards. Along with allowing them to make spells more powerful with [SOUL] effects.

So gather up your allies and get ready for battle!

What are the different Types of cards?

Currently there is 7 different card types. Which are Aura, Character, Companion, Relic, Source, Spell and Summon. Each type has their own unique icon along with the type description in the middle of the card.

Characters

The main cards your deck is built around. They control what other cards are allowed in your deck.

Spells

Cards you play from your hand, by spending mana sources. These will use the play action of a character that matches the colour and/or character name.

Summons

Creatures that enter play from an adjacent free tile to the character summoning them. They have their own Ability Action and Move Action.

Companions

Minor party members that enter play rested in any free tile in your home row. A character doesn’t need to spend their play action for you to play a companion.  They have their own Ability Action and Move Action.

Auras

These go into the Aura Zone. Each player can only control a single aura at a time. Their effects are for the entire field and will trigger once their conditions are met.

Relics

Each character can have a single relic equipped at a time. These can be equipped to any character regardless of their discipline.

Mana Source

These generate mana that can be used to pay for your other cards and abilities.

Anatomy of a Card

Each type of card has key bits of information in key locations. Below are some examples of that information.

The Field

This is the play area where all action happens. It is broken down into different zones as detailed below

Discard    After a card is played from your hand and is resolved it will go here face up. Or if a non-character unit dies it will go here face up. Any card in your discard is considered public knowledge. Another play may request to know what cards are in here at any time. But must ask for permission to look at another player’s discard.

Hand    After you draw a card from your Main Deck. This is where the card goes. At the end of your turn, if you have more than 7 cards. You must discard until you only have 7 cards in your hand.

Main Deck    Your 40 card deck made up of all card types except Characters and Mana Sources (Up to 3 copies of cards with the same name).

Mana Source Deck    Your 8 card deck made up of mana sources.

Mana Zone    The available amount of mana you can spend currently. This increases by 1 at the start of each turn.

Aura Zone    When you play an Aura type card from your hand, it goes here. You can only control one aura at a time. Playing a new one will destroy the old one.

Home Row    Only your units can be played / moved here.

Enemy Row     Only enemy units can be played / moved here. You can still target enemy units in this row.

Neutral Rows    Both players can move and target units in these rows.
